COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

The health and safety of everyone are our concerns and main goal. We adhere to CDC and MSDBE regulations. The following protocols will be carried out indefinitely in addition to our standard OHSA-compliant infection control procedures:

  • Pre-appointment confirmation calls to assess any changes in your health

  • Mask requirements: All patients are required to wear a mask while in office. If you do not have one, we will provide you with a disposable mask. 

  • Hand sanitizer to be used by all patients when entering office

  • COVID-19 health questionnaire and interview: completed with front desk upon arrival

  • New scheduling protocols:  Patients are scheduled to minimize office crowding

  • Writing pen: Patients may bring a pen if they wish or use our complimentary ones

  • Virtual consults: Dr. Taira will follow up and post-op via phone as usual. If you have any concerns, you can always call our office

  • If you have any symptoms or do not feel well, please inform the office immediately!

 

Our Team:

 

  • Daily health assessment of staff at the beginning of the day

  • Enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE) for all doctors and dental assistants, including N95 respirators

  • A medical grade mask is worn by all team members at all times

  • Ongoing training on OSHA and infection control protocol and close monitoring for compliance

 

Facility:

  • Multiple UV and medical/hospital grade HEPA air purification systems throughout the operatories and office for enhanced respiratory protectio

  • Continuous and thorough disinfection of all surfaces in the office

  • Use of 1% hydrogen peroxide pre-operative rinses to inactivate pathogens

  • Reduction of aerosols through additional disposable saliva evacuation and isolation devices

  • Use of proven hospital-grade disinfectants for decontamination of operatories

  • Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) fogger for nontoxic, thorough decontamination after every patient

We are taking the Coronavirus pandemic seriously and doing our part to protect our staff, families, and patients.  

As advised by the governor, all elective procedures have been postponed until Memorial Day. The office has introduced enhanced protocols for respiratory protection. We are here to answer your questions and support you in any way possible during this trying time.
